It’s been a while since the POCO brand has released a device before their recently released POCO X2, which was a “rebrand” of the Redmi K30 4G released in China. This has lead some of its fanbase disappointed as they were expecting a POCO F2, the successor of the heavily successful POCO F1. Albeit recently, POCO held a “zoom meeting” with its fans along with their General Manager, Chandolu Manmohan.
He quoted that the POCO F2, which may confirm its existence by simply mentioning it, is not a rebrand of any device. This may sound odd, as XDADevelopers has spotted the Redmi K30 Pro hints that it would be a POCO device. Perhaps, the Redmi K30 Pro will be under a new name and the alleged POCO F2 will be a unique device just as its predecessor.
Also, POCO GM has also implied that consumers that have a Rs. 20,000 budget should rather purchase a POCO X2 and not wait for the F2. Well it isn’t surprising as the Snapdragon 865, assuming it will be equipped with one, has its fair share of price premium due to the modem being separate in its System on a Chip.
In their virtual meeting, Manmohan also stated that they are currently in focus of their current device, which may imply in terms of software support for the X2. He also confirmed that they are working on a true wireless earbuds.
