Doesn’t matter what kind of computer we’re using, we’re always looking for great storage solutions that are small, fast, and has a lot of capacity – that includes you, we bet. So today we’re reviewing the Transcend MTS800, which uses newer M.2 technology – a storage solution that works like a regular SSD / hard drive but doesn’t require cables or power; screws into your motherboard directly; and is no bigger than your thumb. Priced at about US$190 / PHP 9,000 for the 512GB version, should you pick one of these up for your next upgrade or not? Find out in our review video embedded above or more of the written findings below!
Transcend MTS800 M.2 SSD SATA III 6GB/s – Ranges from 64GB – 1TB (512GB about US$190 / PHP 9000)
M.2 SSDs are a convenient thing, particularly for laptops and small form factor PCs. Transcend’s version here is a perfectly fine example that performs as rated and is priced competitively. You can always still go for traditional SSDs but if you need something compact or something that won’t clutter up your setup then this M.2 from Transcend is highly recommended.
