With the aim of increasing skilled technical service workers and curb unemployment in the Philippines, Samsung and TESDA have partnered together to bring an Electronics Training Laboratory for out of school and unemployed youths. Under this partnership, trainees will have access to equipment, tools and materials to start a career in servicing consumer electronics.
With an initial batch of 24, TESDA’s trainees will get 5 total months experience in-and-out of Samsung – even paid with an allowance – plus a large possibility of working for the Korean company full time.
The future of the program is also promising, as there’s a potential for opening more training centers in different TESDA facilities nationwide and allowing PWD’s in the next few batches.
