One of the most anticipated features of the Sony Xperia Z3 line – the PS4 remote play feature – is now live. Essentially the same feature that PS Vita’s and PS TV’s enjoy, remote play allows you to access your PS4 system anywhere in your house wirelessly – with whatever is going on your console displayed on your phone. Finally, you can play Killzone while in the john, lounging in your patio, or sneaking some extra frags in bed. Convenience, and the future, is now yours – though of course its limited to the Japanese company’s Sony Xperia Z3 line[1] of devices.

That said, remote play is still dependent on your WiFi network and its reach. Sony suggests connecting your PS4 to your router via a wired Ethernet connection, and have your phone stay within a strong area of your WiFi coverage. Still, cool technology is cool. And even if we shouldn’t expect completely latency free gaming, it’ll at least keep us playing our games even if say, you Mom told you to go play outside.

You can download the PS4 Remote Play app on Google Play here[2]. Keep in mind it won’t let you download the app unless you’re using an Xperia Z3 device. We’ve told you that before but we’ll repeat it just in case. Simply put, get yourself a Z3 if you want this feature. We know we would.
