Cherry Mobile doesn’t want the year to end just yet without some sort of last hurrah. And that last hurrah seems to be in the form of a new affordable Quad-Core phone. Yesterday, Cherry updated their official fan page’s cover photo with a teaser that says “Two Point One: Our Year-End Salvo”. Now, that could mean any phone with a 2.1 at the end of it, but thanks to Cherry Mobile’s SM North Edsa fanpage we’re no longer left in the dark with a picture (of the back of the box) of the new Flare 2.1. No pictures of the actual device have surfaced so far, but specs can at least be seen from the image – and the Snapdragon logo at the bottom of the box. Priced at PHP 3,999, its another device to make you think twice about parting with your money. Anyway, check out the specs below!

From what we can tell, the Flare 2.1 should be available now or soon – given that it’s a “year-end salvo” it should be on stores before January 1 at least. Key points to pay attention to here is the Qualcomm processor (most likely MSM8225Q) and the 1GB RAM – the memory being an upgrade to the 512MB of the Flare 2.0. Anyway, check it out at Cherry Mobile stores near you!
