If you haven’t heard of the Motorola Moto G just yet, take a little bit of time right now to read up about it. Why? Its actually one of the most promising and affordable Quad-Core devices around. (US179 / $199 for 8GB / 16GB) That means you’ll be getting a Quad-Core Snapdragon device with 3G, 4.5” HD Gorilla Glass 3 screen, and 5MP + 1.3MP cameras. While those may sound modest compared to local smartphone competition, always remember that the Snapdragon 400 easily smokes even the most powerful MediaTek processor right now. (About 17k average Antutu) This sort of information is relevant now because local gray seller DBGadgets have just announced pre-booking for orders of the 8GB variant for PHP 13.5k. It’s a quite a bit higher than the straight conversion price, but what can you do? Anyway, peep the specs below!
Motorola Moto G – US$179 / US$199 – PHP 13,500 (8GB)
At PHP 13,500, the Moto G might not be the most enticing deal right now, but that’s primarily because importing devices like these have a lot of overhead costs. Prices do tend to lower as time goes on, so if you’re looking for a better deal you might want to hold on to your money for now. (The Google Nexus 5’s $350 unit is still priced at PHP 21k these days, down from its original PHP 25k+.) Alternatively if you can still find a gray market Nexus 4, since those are packing superior specs for about the same price. Nevertheless, we’re going to follow news on this phone more closely from now on. You might want to do the same.
