Gionee, an international brand that has only been in the local space for a year or so, is definitely moving much faster than the local competition these days. That’s because we can easily recall its rise from Single-Core, Dual, to Quad in just the past year here in the Philippines. They’re not stopping there though, as they could be the first brand here (aside from major international brands) to bring a Snapdragon 800-powered LTE-capable Android phone, the Gionee Elife E7. Surprisingly, this phone was just unveiled in China yesterday and even international blogs are still catching up. Today though, the local Philippine fanpage of Gionee posted a picture asking their readers if they’re excited for the device. That’s probably a clear indication that they’re planning on bringing it here, but when? We don’t know. Either way, check out the E7’s specs and our estimated price below.

Gionee Elife E7 – (LTE 32GB version 3499 Yuan / About PHP 25,000+ Direct Conversion)

  • 2.2Ghz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 (3G version) / 2.5Ghz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 (LTE version)
  • 5.5” 1920×1080 Gorilla Glass 3 Display (2.3mm side bezels)
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean + Amigo 2.0 Skin
  • 16MP AF Camera + LED Flash, 8MP AF Front Camera
  • 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, No MicroSD OR 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, No MicroSD (two memory configurations)
  • 2,500mAh Non-Removable Battery
  • Single SIM 3G or LTE
  • NFC, GPS + GLONASS

The Gionee Elife E7 is said to be arriving to India in January, while other regions might get it earlier. Philippines, maybe? Let’s try to not get our hopes up just yet. Either way, with that estimated price the international brand competition will be pretty fierce. Gionee is offering something different in the form a large megapixel front camera, unique design, and the UI customizations they’ve made with Amigo 2.0. That may just be their selling point for this device. Either way, we’ll keep you up to date on what we hear about the E7 in the days to come.
