While most of the public’s attention were on the heated Dual- and Quad-core price and spec war between the local smartphone manufacturers, Cherry Mobile has seen fit to bring a few more inexpensive Single-Core devices to bolster their lineup in that space. One of those phones is the Cherry Mobile Sonic, and its quite an interesting product. Sporting a minimalistic blocky design, it almost reminds us of some Nokia Lumia Windows Phones – and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Specswise though, it’s a little on the conservative side as it is only running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, have limited memory, and doesn’t have 3G connectivity. (It does have a decent 4.0” screen and front camera though.) Given the price of PHP 2,999, we guess that isn’t so bad – and that design might just be worth the admission price in itself. So join us after the break for some more specs and a video unboxing to watch!
