The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T
When it comes to tablets (iOS, Android, or even other OSes), productivity is really its major weak point – you don’t create new things so much as read, view, watch, and play stuff. Which is why, for the most part, we consider tablets as a “Media Consumption” device rather than a “Media Creation” one. It is basically a known fact that large touchscreen slabs just lack some useful tools like fullsize SD/USB ports, keyboards, and all kinds of useful productivity hardware. That’s something that will hopefully change with the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T. It is a new Quad-Core tablet in the line of “transformable” devices from the electronics giant and it comes with a detachable keyboard dock for improved productivity and battery life. We’ve recently had the opportunity to check one out for ourselves, so hop on over the jump for our video unboxing of the tablet that can potentially solve all your mobility needs.
The ASUS Transformer Pad that you’ve just watched is basically one of the newest members of the Transformer series from the Taiwanese electronics giant. It is based on the concept that you should have flexibility and utility from a tablet as much as a netbook or fullsize laptop can provide. Hence, it gave us the detachable keyboard dock and fullsize ports. When it comes to specs, it is future proofed enough with a Quad-Core 1.2Ghz processor, 10.1” 1280×800” IPS screen, 8MP Camera with 1080p video, 1.2MP Front facing camera, and all run under Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Tablet form. With an estimated price of about PHP 25,000 (including the dock), the tablet is one of the better priced out there and offers great flexibility in use, a slim tablet/netbook profile, and the extended battery to boot.
ASUS is expected to launch the Transformer Pad in the Philippines in the next month or so, so stay tuned for the official release if you’re looking out. Till then, bask in the idea that you can actually have a tablet with which you can type complete documents in.
