Netopia, one of the Philippines’ most popular PC and Internet rental shops, has always been one of the de facto places to go when one wants to play with your friends, browse the internet, or chat with loved ones. Now, even consumers who are looking for a good cup of coffee and possibly some WiFi time for their gadgets can join in on the fun – as Netopia have partnered with Vietnam-based Highlands Coffee to bring their signature brews to a shop near you. With the opening of the first Netopia / Highlands Coffee branch at the new Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo, Manila, it ushers in a new era for Netopia and a first for Highlands Coffee here in the Philippines. Along with it comes a new Netopia logo, and planned upgrades for existing shops to include café amenities. To top it off, customers who grab a cup from these new shops will be able to enjoy up to 30 minutes of free internet – perfect for consumers looking for a great place to enjoy some coffee and check their e-mail, or social networks.
The new redesign features a new logo, seats and tables, and a barista area for the café.
To coincide with the Internet Café upgrade to Netopia / Highlands Coffee branches, some changes will be made in terms of amenities, décor, and layouts of current shops. The old subdivision for silent users of computers will in turn house the more enthusiastic gaming consumers – with internet browsing and general use taking up the more open area, shared with the café side of the shop. New chairs and tables will be introduced for the coffee consumers and will let users mingle and relax within the environments. These planned upgrades are scheduled to roll out to selected Netopia branches soon, so your favorite branch might be next!
A couple of the offered coffee variants
Along with serving the Vietnamese brand of premium coffee, consumers will be able to enjoy up to 30 minutes of WiFi which comes free when you order a cup. With this, Netopia is hoping to address the newer, smartphone / tablet / laptop powered crowds who are always on the lookout for a nice coffee shop to set up, get their caffeine boost, and log on with their chosen gadgets. With dependable & free WiFi so scarce in and around the Metro, Netopia’s offering of coffee & WiFi combo is quite hard to pass up.

With brewed coffee prices starting at only PHP 59/69, this new partnership between Netopia and Highlands Coffee looks to be a great upgrade to one of the Philppines’ favorite PC rental shops. To see if a new Netopia branch will be upgrading near you, check out their website here.
