The HTC Sensation XE
If you’re still on the lookout for a new dual-core Android smartphone this year, then you’ll be glad to know that a new powerhouse is coming your way in the form of a revamped HTC Sensation – dubbed the Sensation XE. The XE will have an upgraded 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and will come bundled with Beats by Dr. Dre technology – including a Beats in-ear headset with sound enhancements. To top it off the phone will also feature the Beats branding and some red accents to also make sure people know about it. Pricing have not been announced yet or if it will be available in the Philippines, but it will be out at the end of September in other parts of Asia and the world. Here’s hoping it’ll hit our market as well.
HTC recently partnered with Beats by Dr. Dre to improve and collaborate on delivering a better audio experience with their devices, and the HTC Sensation XE is the first one out of the gate to take advantage of the said partnership. The phone is mostly similar to the original Gingerbread running Sensation, but with a few upgrades. It now has a faster 1.5Ghz processor and a larger battery at 1730Mah (originally 1520Mah). Aside from the new red accented design and Beats badge, you also get the aforementioned Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headset with controls – which promises to deliver a much more amazing aural experience. Rounding out the specs you have the 4.3” 960×540 (higher than usual) resolution display, 8MP camera with dual LED, 1080p video recording, and a front-facing VGA camera among the usual Android accoutrements.
The new Sensation XE should promise to be newest flagship and fastest device the Taiwanese manufacturer will be putting out this year (or is it?), so we’re looking forward to checking them out. Of course, the new Beats technology and in-ears have us interested as well – given that those buds fetch a pretty penny as well. No pricing was mentioned in the announcement, but it was slated to be available at the end of September for some Asian countries. Its too early to tell if HTC Philippines is planning on bringing it in, but so far they’ve brought most of their devices inland – so we have hope for the Sensation XE.
To whet your appetite a little, catch a video regarding the HTC and Beats partnership below – unfortunately only showing a Sensation in it. Hopefully they’ll put up a video about the XE soon!
