LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black
Yesterday, LG Philippines launched the dual-core LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Black Android smartphones. These new pair of phones are LG’s higher-end Google phones that will compete with the other well known Android brands. The Optimus 2X is actually the world’s first dual-core smartphone and one of the few who can claim they’ve started the dual-core trend. While the Optimus Black uses a different LCD technology to provide better contrasts and readability in brighter conditions.
The Android 2.2 Froyo-powered (upgradeable to 2.3 Gingerbread) LG Optimus 2X was announced late last year and released to the public this February. LG Philippines has finally launched it here locally and it will be available next week. The dual-core 1Ghz Tegra-powered phone sports a 4” 800×480 capacitive IPS LCD display, 8GB storage, 8MP camera with LED Flash (+ 1.3MP Front), and 1080p video recording @ 24fps. Price is quoted to be about PHP 28k. (Source: YugaTech)
If you’re interested in a more mid-range device, or a slightly interesting screen, then you should also consider the LG Optimus Black, which was also announced with the 2x. It’s also got a 4” 800×480 IPS LCD display, with a single core 1Ghz Proc., 5MP camera + LED Flash and HD video at 30fps. The Android 2.2 powered phone will be upgradeable as well to 2.3 Gingerbread and one of its main features is the super-bright Nova display for better sunlight legibility. This phone will be available next week, for PHP 20k. (Source: YugaTech)
