HTC Desire HD and Desire Z
If you’re an owner of one (or some) of HTC’s 2010 Android lineup – namely the Desire, Desire HD and Desire Z – then you’re in very great luck. An HTC spokesperson has just announced that a Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update is in the works for these 2010 Android favorites.
HTC Desire
HTC is known for providing great support for its phones in the future and it has come primarily on the Android HTC platform as software updates. 2010’s lineup is no exception. While 2010’s Phone Of The Year has already experienced being upgraded from Android 2.1 Éclair to 2.2 Froyo. It is slated to receive another upgrade to Gingerbread soon. The Desire HD and Z have Froyo outside the box and will receive the 2.3 update probably around the same time too.
HTC Incredible S
This might have been influenced by the HTC Incredible S. It is one of HTC’s new flagship phones with a 4” screen, contoured back and an interesting button tilting feature when you hold the phone in landscape. Launching very soon (this March) with Froyo onboard, it will be upgradeable to Gingerbread when the update comes around 2nd Quarter this year.
With recent phones about to receive significant upgrades to Gingerbread, and even Desire owners getting its second major update, HTC is showing a commendable effort to support their phones. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing our devices light up with Gingerbread in the next couple of months and seeing all the cool new features it brings!
