The Redmi K50 Pro has been a departure from the usual Redmi K Pro series with it having a MediaTek Dimensity chip. According to a new rumor from the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the successor will be a return to form, atleast with the chipset used. The Redmi K60 Pro is tipped to be having the next Snapdragon flagship chip.
According to Weibo user experiencemore, the Redmi K60 Pro will be having the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Over the Redmi K50 Pro donning a MediaTek Dimensity 9000, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 boasts 30% uplift in AnTuTu 9 and over 40% better multi core score on Geekbench 5.
Aside from the SoC, the K60 device will also bear a 2K OLED display with some sort of a high refresh rate support.
The tipster also stated that the handset will have an in display fingerprint scanner and enhanced cameras over the Redmi K50 Pro.
The announcement of the K60 Pro will not be any time soon, but if history is any indication, it will be introduced early next year. The price range ball park is expected to be at 2999CNY(PHP 24.5K equivalent)
