Alleged Redmi Pad details and specifications surface

Xiaomi is readying a more affordable jab at the tablet market. The upcoming Redmi Pad’s specifications has been tipped by a famous Xiaomi tipster.

#RedmiPad will feature the new MediaTek CPU MT8781. I don't know what's a marketing name, but the specs are very similar to Helio G99: 2x A76+6x A55, Mali G57 MC2, LPDDR4X, eMMC 5.1/UFS 2.2 (there's a choice), Wi-Fi 5, BT 5.2, max 1200x2000px display.

Twitter user kacskrz leak out the specifications of the alleged Redmi Pad. Under the hood is a tablet oriented chip from MediaTek, the MT8781. According to the Twitter user, the chip is similarly built like the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. That includes the CPU layout at 2 big and 6 little A76 and A55 cores, Mali G57MC2 GPU and 6nm.

The MediaTek Helio G99 is alike to the MediaTek Dimensity 810 without 5G support and a lower frequency on the big cores by 9%. The tablet configuration could come with LPDDR4X and eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.2. The panel on the front is a 2000×1000 resolution.

The rear also has been spotted on Weibo. A single rear shooter, suspected to be an 8MP sensor, is located at the top left corner.

The finish on the rear is matte, likely to be polycarbonate material. Its launch date is currently unknown, but it may launch alongside with the Xiaomi 12T Pro this October.
