Steve from Onleaks has provided the internet with new renders of another device, this time from Sony.
It was an Xperia Compact phone from the Japanese phonemaker.
The renders show Sony’s classic design language with a boxy design with rounded off corners. The display on the front has a spillway notch cutout making room for the selfie camera.
Its screen measures at 5.5 inches diagonally, this is marginally larger than the iPhone 12 Mini at 5.4-inches.
Notably, the display is surrounded by a bezel which leads up to the chin. Sans any curvature to the display, at its top is an 8MP front camera.
At the right side is where the sidemounted fingerprint scanner is showcased which also doubles as a on and off switch.
Flipping to the rear is barred from any flashy colors which other manufacturers usually have. Instead we have a simple looking rear with the dual rear shooters and the branding are located.
The top has the 3.5mm headphone port, a dying feature across smartphones nowadays.
Other specifications and its launch date are still not known as of writing. But it is interesting that Sony is reviving the Compact series which was scrapped before.
