Digital Chat Station already revealed that the upcoming midrange mobile platforms will have significant upgrades over their outgoing predecessors. His new tipped details reveal high clock speeds with the processor.
The mobile processor, unnamed by DCS, reveal CPU desigb details. It maxes out at 2.8GHz at one core, 2.72GHz at three cores and the remaining four cores runs at 2GHz. The chip will be also built on a 5nm process. It is unknown on which 5nm node from Samsung or TSMC, as none of it is indicated.
The CPU will be paired with a Mali G78 GPU with unknown number of shader cores.
Given the architecture and the GPU, it is unlikely that the platform will be from Qualcomm as Adreno GPUs are Snapdragon’s exclusivity and never used any Mali GPUs. It is speculated not from HiSilicon itself as the US sanctions are currently in place preventing them in manufacturing Huawei’s Kirin chipsets.
Safe to assume that it can be either from MediaTek from their upcoming Dimensity lineup, the Taiwanese chipmaker is also known to harbor Mali GPUs. Also, from Samsung with the Exynos lineup.
It is not known when will this chip will launch and what devices will it power.
