News broke out from Twitter that Samsung is now working on a 5nm chip, this was unveiled to be the Exynos 1080 as quoted by IceUniverse.

According to Dr. Pan, which IceUniverse also quoted, the Exynos 1080 will adapt ARM’s new CPU design which was unveiled earlier this year, the Cortex-A78. Also, it benefits with Samsung’s new 5nm node that will bump up in performance in efficiency. Present for the games is the Mali G78 graphics which was also unveiled alongside with the Cortex-A78.

The result? Blazing fast performance

Aside from IceUniverse, famous insider Digital Chat Station has quoted the performance estimates of this midrange processor. He stated that it reaches at 650,000+ in AnTuTu benchmark. Absurdly high even for a top tier midrange chip. By comparison, the MediaTek Dimensity 820, a powerful midrange SoC only aces 420,000. Even for flagships of the present, it manages to beat them in their own game with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 having a 600,000 average and their own Samsung Exynos 990 at 530,000 by average. These chips were used by flagship devices today.

It is compelling to see that midrange chips of the foreseeable feature can whack a punch, even outperforming the best of the best today. Now, it’s launch or debut to a device goobally is unknown. Though there are rumors that the Vivo X60 and upcoming Samsung devices would get harnessed with this chip.
