ASUS has slowly shifted focus in its target audience with the release of the Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 7 series as flagship devices. The Taiwanese firm is barred from releasing any budget devices.
According to recent leaks, it looks like the manufacturer is willing to take another shot at the market. ASUS is currently preparing four new devices, this was identified with chipsets were spotted.
The chips were internally referred as “Lito”, “Lagoon”, “Bengal”, and “Scuba”.
Lito has appeared into many devices already. This has spotted on Geekbench listings from the likes of the Redmi K30 5G. From the tipsters, it is associated with the Snapdragon 765G or the 765.
Lagoon is likely to resemble the Snapdragon 690. The latest Snapdragon 600 series chip that features 5G capabilities at a more attractive price. Lito and Lagoon are supposedly 5G devices. These are notably very efficient with the 5G modem built-in integrated into one chip, unlike the flagship Snapdragon 865.
Bengal is associated with Snapdragon 662 or 460. These chips sit below the midrange segment in terms of performance showed by benchmarks.
Scuba, on the other hand, is likely to be a device running with a Snapdragon 200 series chip.
Unfortunately, no nomenclature nor any clue of it has been indicated on the leak. Their launches is not known as well.
