Since the beginning of 2018, smartphone manufacturers were looking for a way to reduce bezels on their phones to fit in more screen. With this, distinct displays has surfaced along the way with weird aspect ratios and solutions of where to put the selfie shooter and other components. From a variety of pop-up cameras, notches and cutouts, the companies certainly jumped in on the train battling for the perfect solution of uninterrupted displays. Now, ZTE has announced that they will be the first to have the camera nestled beneath the screen.
From Weibo, the president of ZTE mobile devices Ni Fei, has announced that the Axon 20 will be the first one to have the ideal under display camera setup. Their latest announcement was a poster poking fun of different solutions in dealing with the front shooter (i.e. pop-up mechanisms, cutouts et al. )
The display might be the recently announced technology from VisionOX. The display firm did announced that their tech is ready for mass production.
As for the specifications of the device, it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip, a 6.92-inch display, 4120mAh battery, a 64MP main shooter and snuggly equipped beneath the display is a 32MP camera.
