Just yesterday, Xiaomi has showcased their latest advancement with the approach of phones sans any bezels, under display camera technology.

The firm claimed that it is their third iteration of the tech. Showcased, is a modified Mi 10 Ultra with the under display camera offset to the top left. It was compared side by side to the standard Mi 10 Ultra for reference of comparison. In the clip, both devices were handled in scrolling, viewing photos and watching video content. In the end, they also took a selfie shot with the under display camera.

In a Weibo post, Xiaomi has explained how the technology works. Stated that they manage to double the number of pixels above where the camera is to maintain the pixel density matching the rest of the screen. It borrows color data with neighboring pixels around the cutout but independently turns off and on when the selfie shooter is accessed.

In addition to that, they also announced that the mass production of the tech is as soon as next year.

Hopefully, the next wave of flagship devices from them such as the Xiaomi Mi 11, the next MIX or even the Redmi K40 Pro would get it.
