OPPO has been busy in releasing devices in their home market, China. Aside from the recent A lineup that they have planned for the midrange segment, it seems that they’re not done with it.
New reports from Weibo that the firm is readying a device with new internals. That is, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U will be featured in the said device. The chip is based from the Dimensity 720 and will have key improvements, for CPU and GPU against it. Numbers that MediaTek marketed suggest that it would perform similarly as to a standard Dimensity 800.
With the chip aside, gossips suggest that it will have an AMOLED display. A cutout on the topleft corner is assumably speculated as well. No mention of a high refresh rate support as we have seen with other handsets.
Powering that up will be a 4300mAh battery. The surprising part is that it will charge via OPPO’s SuperVOOC 2.0 tech rated at 65W. This will bring the bar up when it comes to standards in midrange devices.
As of now, there are no confirmation about the name of the device nor any international availability. Interesting to ponder nonetheless, especially with the SuperVOOC tech trickling down to more affordable devices is top notch in the industry.
