Huawei has been facing different sanctions from the US government. Though, this won’t hinder them in releasing their newest flagship device bound later this year.
Numerous rumors about the device’s specifications surface. RODENT950 on Twitter has shared specifications of what seems to be a Huawei Flagship device. There are two devices, “Noah” and “Ocean”. It is assumed that this will be the codename for the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro. Followed by that is a set of key features.
“Ocean” will have a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display from LG. This allegedly supports 90Hz refresh rate. Aside from that, a 50MP sensor, a 20MP ultrawide camera, a presumably periscoping telephoto shooter at 8MP and a laser autofocus completing the camera array.
“Noah”, on the other hand, will have a display manufactured by BOE and as well as LG. This was described by the tweet as a waterfall display. Which is similar to what we found to that of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Vivo NEX 3 series, extreme coverage of the display covering the sides of the device. It is unknown if they’d omit the volume rocker and power buttons with such a display occupying the sides. Like “Ocean”,it will have 90Hz refresh rate support as well.
Moving to the camera setup, “Noah” corporates a 50MP main shooter, a whopping 80MP ultrawide camera plus a cine camera, ToF sensor and periscope for zooming completing the setup.
On the displays, a punchhole cutout is nestled inside, housing the selfie cameras and 3D face unlock feature.
Huawei’s Kirin 9000 chip will be powering both devices and will have battery capacities of north of 4000mAh.
With the specifications given, the devices might shape up to be very good successors to the famous Huawei P40 series. Though, as US government cripples the tech firm. They arr in tight ropes as further restrictions are being placed which dashes the hope for them accessing vital technology to manufacture chips such as from TSMC, ARM and others.
