The Maimang series of Huawei has been a staple of the Chinese market in these past years. The lineup is usually filled with midrange capabilities and offers a quite decent price to performance ratio.
This is also the series in which some of Huawei’s units made up into global markets with different names. The Maimang 9, is no exception in receiving the treatment of midrange specs at a lower price point.
Firstly, the display will welcome the user with its huge 6.8-inch stretched diagonally. The resolution is at Full HD and it is an LCD panel. Though, the lack of a high refresh rate display is there as the panel is capped at 60Hz.
The chip inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 800. The silicon from the Taiwanese chipmaker has been used already in a bunch of devices and has shown significant improvements over the company’s Helio lineup while offering 5G connectivity.
The main camera is a 64MP shooter which is accompanied by two more sensors which are dutied for depth and bokeh shots and a wider view. The selfie shooter is an 8MP effort sandwiched around the display inside a punch-hole cutout.
The device has a 4,300mAh battery and charges via 22.5W charging.
