Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite a while back. This offered internals that are respectable at the midrange territory. The Snapdragon 855, while aging, is no slouch at that time. It also came with a promising flat display with a hole-punch and a multiple camera array on the rear. Samsung is ready to replicate the formula, as rumors suggest, the “S20 Lite” is on the works.
According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is working on a device with a model number “SM-G780” and “SM-G781”. As for reference, the Galaxy S10 Lite bears a model number of “SM-G770”. This numbering suggests that it is in line with the S10 Lite. The South Korean firm refers the new model numbers as “Galaxy S20 Fan Edition” internally.
The reports also suggest that there will be three versions of the device. Two global variants, with and without 5G and a US variant with 5G capabilities. The specifications of the device is not determined, although it is safe to assume that it will have atleast 128GB of storage, Android 10 on OneUI 2.5 and may have a Snapdragon 865, alike to the standard Galaxy S20.
The name of the device may be odd, but may play a role to the device’s cost as it may retail below the asking price of the standard S20 series. As of now, no launch date has been announced nor leaked.
