A rumor from Weibo indicated that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 refresh, the Mi 10s will feature a 120Hz refresh rate.

None much has surfaced more of this rumor, aside from the existence of a device and its screen refresh rate.

As you can remember, the Xiaomi Mi 10 already has a 90Hz refresh rate display. This is paired with a 4780mAh or a 4500mAh cell in the standard and pro version respectively. Aside from that, both devices feature a Snapdragon 865 and ample amounts of memory for both RAM and storage. The device also featured a 108MP sensor as its main camera. So we can expect the Mi 10s to be on par, if not better with the specs aforementioned.

The refresh rate race was already on from the yesteryears. Razer and ASUS has implemented it on their gaming-focused smartphones. Not long after, OnePlus picked up on the trend. Since then other manufacturers has also adopted the display refresh rate trend. Mainstream adoption started ever since, even Samsung, with their recently launched S20 series have such a feature.

Higher refresh rate displays can uplift the “perceived” speed of the device, since the display refreshes more than 60Hz — which was a standard before the trend. Although, this is evidently is taking a toll on the device’s battery life.
