LG has brought us their LG V60 touting flagship internals. Traditionally, they also would release a device under their G line up. Although a report from South Korea contradicts their ongoing tradition.
Now the report goes that the LG G9 is reported to sport a Snapdragon 765 mobile platform. This is also similar to what reports say about the Google Pixel 5. LG is planning to take a step down with the mobile platform since the Snapdragon 865, along with its Qualcomm X55 5G modem, is much more expensive compared to previous flagship processors from the firm.
So instead of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, LG might include with the G9 is the Snapdragon 765. This will cut down the costs of the G9. Potentially, the device might also come in a cheaper price than its predecessors.
Although, this does not mean that the upcoming device will be less premium. After all, a device may have a great design, camera and features to make it a premium experience.
It is now more apparent that we will be seeing more devices with the Snapdragon 765 platform. Nokia has released their Nokia 8.3. LG and Google aren’t willing to pay also for the hefty cost of the Snapdragon 865.
