We really loved Fujifilm’s X-T3. Based on our experience with it, we think its currently one of the best mirrorless cameras to date, if not the best. It’s got amazing autofocus, incredible burst shooting, and image quality that really blows one away.
Which makes improving on it quite a task, but impressively Fujifilm has done just that with the announcement of the Fujifilm X-T4. A few crucial upgrades to the spec sheet has now made it an almost unbeatable APS-C mirrorless camera in this price point.
Fujifilm X-T4 – Price & Availability TBA
Key new features include In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) that will greatly expand the shooting capabilities and lens selection of the X-T4. The X-T3 either had to be stabilized through the lens or via other means, but now the X-T4 has its own body stabilization so you can pair it with non-stabilized prime lenses and still get crisp images in low light and long shutter speeds. (In more specific terms, Fujifilm claims a huge 6.5 stop stabilization when used with 18 out of 29 XF / XC lenses.)
Video recording capabilities have improved greatly – with up to 240FPS in 1080p, Video Specific shooting mode, Dual SD card recording, and a new fully-articulated LCD so you can shoot vlogs or manage one-man video operations.
Many, many more upgrades have been introduced, including a new, longer-lasting battery pack (approx. 1.5x larger than previous model), and new film simulation mode called ‘ETERNA Bleach Bypass.”
We still don’t yet have information about pricing or availability, but the X-T3 was priced at US$ 1,500 back in late 2018 so we expect it to be similar if not slightly higher than that.
