Realme Philippines has taken the wraps off its new budget smartphone contender and the pricing is definitely promising. Coming off the heels of a very strong 2019 where the company grew tremendously – 808% year over year growth in Q3 2019 – the brand is now launching the Realme 5i, a sort of sibling to the Realme 5 with more affordable pricing.
For PHP 6,990, you get essentially the Realme 5 – same processor, same display, same cameras, same storage config, and same battery. The main difference between the Realme 5 and the 5i is that you get a small decrease in specs and accessories – the WiFi is Single Band 2.4Ghz (no 5Ghz but honestly its not that important), there is no silicone case in the package (about $2 / PHP 100), and the front camera is 8MP instead of 13. Oh and finally, the back has a matte texture instead of the glossy back (not really a disadvantage though) of the Realme 5.

What’s still the same are as we said what’s more important like the rear cameras, the display, the battery, and the processor. So its a more affordable version of the Realme 5 with very little sacrifices made.
