The Asus’ ROG GL503 line is a somewhat good basis of what a budget gaming laptop should be. Pretty good build quality, lightweight and thin, some gamer cred baked in, and packing a 120Hz panel with good viewing angles and color accuracy. They’re not the most powerful gaming laptops around, but they’re compact nature and great displays mean most consumers would be quite happy to own them. Today, we’re sharing our preview and first impressions of the newest Hero edition ROG GL503GE. This guy has somewhat higher than usual specs like an i7 8750 12-thread processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SATA SSD + 1TB 5400RPM HDD storage config, and even throws in a 4-Zone RGB Backlit keyboard. Pricing is near the ceiling for budget notebooks though at around PHP 81,995. Curious to see what that gets you? Check out our preview video embedded above, or read up on more specs below!

The Asus ROG GL503GE variant we have here should be available now at your favorite Asus retailers. Take note the price is PHP 81,995 not PHP 89,995 – there was a miscommunication on the SRP so there are parts of the YouTube video where we quote the wrong price. (We added corrections.) Anyway, what do you think of the new Hero Edition GL503? Let us know!
