League of Legends 2015 World Championship To Be Broadcast Live on Sports5 No Commercial Breaks

In an unprecedented move, Sports5 / AksyonTV will be broadcasting the League of Legends (eSports) World Championships today, October 31, 2015 6PM, and with no commercial breaks. The game, a MOBA from Riot Games, is one of the most popular online games today but gaming hasn’t been widely accepted yet in the Philippine mainstream to have it shown live on TV. (Even though it is on cable, not free access.)

This marks a great triumph not just for eSports, but for bringing the acceptance of gaming here in the Philippines. Much kudos to Garena, Riot Games, and Sports5. Let October 31 mark the day when gamers all over the country stood up, told their yayas to stop watching their crappy telenovelas, and tuned in to a new generation of eSports content.

Anyway, the live stream starts soon and you can watch it in a bunch of cinemas and venues, or online via Sports5.PH, on Twitch, YouTube, etc.
