Remember when we told you, on our Camera Fight video, that we wanted to start comparing phones in a more direct and objective sense? When we wanted to measure phone qualities not by subjective means and vague words like “great”, “good”, and “nice”? If you’ve been reading up on reviews, you’ve come to realize that most of that is just a mix of guesstimation and subjective personal experience. But what if you can, for example, measure the exact amount of time the battery can sustain the phone until it dies? Then you can finally find out which phone has better battery life – and you can even find out by how much it lasts longer. And that’s exactly what we did – welcome to our first Battery Fight article featuring the Cherry Mobile Apollo vs. the newly released Cherry Mobile Flare HD.
Cherry Mobile Apollo – PHP 6,999
Cherry Mobile Flare HD – PHP 5,499
Well there you have it – a direct comparison of battery lives between the Cherry Mobile Apollo and the Flare HD. What comes as a surprise to us is that the more affordable Flare HD and its slightly smaller battery can last longer than the Apollo. Then again the Apollo does have a larger screen so that may be the reason for its faster drain. Nevertheless, battery life is not the only selling point of the Apollo (its camera is better, which we’ll directly compare to the Flare HD soon). But Flare HD buyers should be happy to know that their budget phone can last longer and they shouldn’t complain about the smaller battery – at least this time.
P.S.: One good thing about our battery test is we can repeat the process for all phones and we can compare the time to previously tested phones to tell you which one has the best (or worst) battery life this year 2014. So stay tuned for more Battery and Camera Fights!
