Looks like some owners of relatively new Android offerings of Cherry Mobile might be able to update their phones to new firmwares soon. As an image on the company’s fanpage have been posted mentioning an OTA (over-the-air) update app for several devices. This is definitely a great move on their part as most consumers really would like a phone that has the capability of being updated to at least slightly higher Android versions.
The list of phones that include the System Software app includes the Spark TV, Sonic, Click, Hyper, Thunder, Omega, Titan (JB), Titan TV (JB), Flame 2.0, SkyFire 2.0, and the Omega HD 2.0. And yes, you did see that correctly. Cherry Mobile has confirmed the existence of the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0. That’s a new version of the popular OHD phone we featured a few months ago. We actually have one on hand right now, but we’ll post a different article about it. (And we’ll discuss it on BTS later this week!)
For now, owners of the phones mentioned above can randomly open the app and hit check for updates if you like. We haven’t seen any updates for our phones just yet, but we’ll keep an eye out!
