A curious new tweet came out of Starmobile’s @HappyManPH Twitter account today, and it looks rather definitive that Starmobile is interested in launching their own Dragon Trail-screened and 12MP BSI-camera’d phone – much like the recently announced Cherry Mobile Omega HD. The tweet reads, “Starmobile is about to shine even brighter,” with an image. And from the image its definitely shown that its a new Android phone with a 12MP BSI camera with a 3MP front BSI. (Omega HD only has 2MP front BSI.) Its also shown to have the Dragon Trail display that makes the screen scratchproof (among other things).
What the Tweet and Image doesn’t say though are some more important bullet points – namely the specs, price, and release date. Our best guess is that its a Dual-Core 1Ghz MediaTek device. But the screen doesn’t look 5.0″ inches to us – likely a 4.7″ or smaller basing from the bezel thickness. The RAM is another important omitted spec, as well as the resolution of the display and/or the display technology used. Finally, we don’t know the price and release date of this said device – called Diamond in the picture.
Unfortunately, we might never find out or test it on our own – as Starmobile has curiously not been sending us any invites to their launch events. We’ll see what we can do though. ‘Till then, consider us waiting to see which is the better phone of the two.
