The Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt Is A Quad-Core 7” HD Tablet For PHP 3,999–Available March 6

We have to admit. We were wrong. A couple of weeks ago, we theorized that the new Cherry Mobile quad-core device was going to be a tablet that will probably sell for PHP 7k. Apparently that was way too unoptimistic. Why? Because Cherry Mobile ended up launching a Quad-Core HD IPS tablet for only PHP 3,999. Yep, that’s just one thousand pesos per core. That would a feat that nobody has achieved thus far today, let alone for a country like the Philippines. But we digress. Cherry Mobile has announced that you can buy the Fusion Bolt (for PHP 3,999) at their upcoming release on March 6, 2013. Originally, our theories have pegged it to be clocked at 1.5Ghz, it turns out that its template was slightly different than the Ainol Novo 7 Venus that it looked to be. (It turns out to be a Novo 7 Venus Lite.) Either way, you’re getting quite some killer specs for literally half the price of most tablets out there with competing HD screens. And while early rumblings say that its benchmarks and gaming capabilities as high as you’d expect from a Quad-Core device, we still think it’s a highly capable machine.
