Looks like pricing for the next blockbuster android smartphone from Cherry Mobile has finally been revealed. The new Cherry Mobile Flame will hit retail stores for another price-defying / defining PHP 6,299. And while its a bit more expensive than the "Dual-Core ng Bayan" (Cherry Mobile Flare) price of PHP 3,999, its larger screen with a higher resolution display might just be the upgrade that people want. While there’s no exact availability date yet, the local brand’s Facebook fan page has posted the picture above with a caption that says it’ll be available this December.
There wasn’t a lot of information about the Flame to begin with, just the picture teaser above with blurred specs next to the SkyFire and the Omega. We thought that on a recent Cherry Mobile event these phones would be launched but unfortunately they weren’t. However, it looks like the Flame will make an appearance this December and at least we’re sure the price will be PHP 6,299. The new image release also tells us that its a high resolution qHD screen that’s 4.5 inches in size. (qHD = 960×540, a step above most phones’ WVGA but below HD 720p) It will also pack a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon and have a 5MP camera with Flash + Front Facing as well. Of course, this unit is also a Dual SIM device with 3G. (Though we’re not sure if both slots are capable of it.) Finally, the phone will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – though blurred specs of the Omega above hint that it will be running Jelly Bean.
Since the Cherry Mobile Flare and Titan has had massive success in the past few weeks that they’ve been available, it can only mean that a phone of this caliber will also be a very attractive buy this holiday season. We’re looking forward to checking one out ourselves if we have the chance, so stay tuned for any updates we can find about the device!
